Coca-Cola Football League Play-offs

A simple and fan centric billboard campaign.

Outline.

While under contract at Mother (London UK), I was commissioned by Coke UK to create billboards to place around the stadiums of the teams that had made it to the semi-finals of the Coca-Cola Football League promotion play-offs.

During the period that Coke sponsored the league, England’s national stadium was being rebuilt and therefore the finals had been relocated to Cardiff, Wales. Because of this, we came up with the simple but effective concept of changing the semifinalists’ teams' chants into Welsh.

Coke also embraced the idea that the colour of the billboards would style in the team’s colours and not the official brand colours, which was a departure from their usual brand guidelines.
